Prize Purse

A $10,000 purse has been added to the North Shore Half Marathon this year for the top 5 men and women in the Open Division, and top 3 men and women in the Master’s Division (40 years+).  All times and placements of finish will be reviewed and deemed official before cash awards are distributed to the winners.  Awards for the Open Division winners will be based on starting gun time.  Awards for the Master’s Division will be based on chip time.

Any U.S. citizens, who qualify for the top 2 open cash awards, will be required to pay taxes on the gross amount.  A Social Security Number or Tax ID and signature are required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to complete a W-9 form.

Non U.S. citizens who qualify for cash awards will be subject to Income Tax withholding, which will be deducted from the prize money dependent on IRS requirements.

The age of a participant on the day of the race will determine their eligibility for the cash awards.
