Course Description
The course is relatively flat with the exception of the infamous “Park Avenue” hill. From there the route will take you through the historic Fort Sheridan and under the clock tower. After that it’s a short jaunt over to the finish line where water, energy drink and food await your arrival. To up the ante, we’ve added 2 points of Live Course Entertainment!

Aid Stations
There will be six aid station spread out approximately every two miles as the course allows. At each location there will be volunteers passing out water & an energy drink.
Medical
ALS units will be positioned at the third & last aid station. In addition should any runners be in need of medical attention, course marshals and aid station captains will be in communication with the medical teams at all times. Medical facilities will also be available at the finish line.
Course Time Limit
The North Shore Half Marathon has a time limit of 3 hours 30 minutes or a 16 minute mile pace. After the cut-off time, streets will reopen to traffic. Any runners still on the course will be asked to move to the adjacent sidewalks and obey traffic signals.
Clocks & Mile Markers
Mile markers and every 5K will be identified with a digital clock. Clocks will be based off of gun time or elapsed event time. Clocks at the finish line will display unofficial times. Each runner will also have a B-Tag for individual timing.
